  Standardization is an inevitable trend in the development of hydraulic cylinder forging technology. The standardization of hydraulic cylinder is in the first place in the hydraulic components, in the issued hydraulic component standards, hydraulic cylinder accounted for the largest proportion. The significance of standardization is well known. It not only facilitates design and manufacturing, production management, but also facilitates professional cooperation, technical exchange and product matching. If non-standard parameters are adopted, non-standard seals or other parts and forgings must be required, which not only causes difficulties in design and manufacturing, but also brings trouble to users in maintenance and spare parts.

  In order to strengthen the standardization of hydraulic and pneumatic components and systems, ISO established the technical committee on hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components in 1989. Our country joined the organization in 1978.

  China has been actively carrying out the standardization of hydraulic cylinders since the 1970s. In addition to formulating national standards and departmental standards for hydraulic cylinders, various industries also have the joint design of various series of hydraulic cylinders.

  Hydraulic cylinder and "oil cylinder", "power cylinder", "actuator cylinder" and other different names, sometimes also use "hydraulic motor", "actuator" and other more general name. According to the current regulations, except the aerospace department can be called "actuator cylinder", other occasions should be referred to as the hydraulic cylinder.

  When using terms, pay attention to specific concepts. For example, the name of the two ends of the single piston hydraulic cylinder is stipulated by JIS in Japan: the A end is the cylinder head, while the USAS stipulates the B end is the cylinder head, so the reader should judge according to the actual situation. China's standards for the two ends of the hydraulic cylinder did not make specific provisions. For the sake of convenience, this book stipulates that end A is the bottom of the cylinder and end B is the cylinder head. For the double piston rod hydraulic cylinder, the upper, lower cylinder head or left, right cylinder head, not the bottom of the cylinder. When the piston moves toward the cylinder head, the force is called thrust, and the motion speed is called push speed; otherwise, it is called pull speed, pull speed and pull speed.
